I’m a passionate supporter of small business and independent bookstores. When I decided to start this service, I knew I wanted to provide a way for customers to purchase recommended books that is not Amazon.

I met and befriended one of the co-owners of Chapter One Book Store at a regional bookstore conference a couple of years ago. You know how you sometimes just click with someone when you meet them? Katrina was one of those people. They immediately came to mind when I was brainstorming a potential bookstore partner. 

In particular, I wanted to work with a bookstore located in a small Western town. Chapter One is located in Hamilton, Montana, and the fact that it is co-owned by three women is an added bonus!

Here’s a little more about the owners and their store.

Chapter One Book Store has been a literary and community resource for Bitterroot Valley residents and visitors since 1974.  Owned by Mara, Marisa, and Katrina, we offer a place for customers to explore our shelves of new and used books, learn about local events and chat about the daily happenings in our valley and world.  Our mission at Chapter One is to provide a space for all to explore their passions, discover new ones and share them with others.
