Literary Getaways FAQs

What is the recommended age range for the Literary Getaway?

• It is suitable for all ages from 1 month (with input from mom and dad) to 100+
  The recipient will provide the reader’s age when completing the reading profile.

What is included with youth book options?

• Ages 0 - 3 will receive 2 board books or 1 hardcover picture book (depending on selection).

• Young reader (ages 5 - 8) will receive 1 hard cover or 2 paperback books (depending on selection).

• Youth ages 9+ will receive 1 hard cover or paperback book (depending on selection).

• Youth range is for up to age 18.

Can you ship this outside the United States?

• Currently, Adventure Is Book only ships within the United States.

How do you select the books for the recommendation list?

• When you order your Literary Getaway, you will receive a link to a form for creating a profile with reading preferences and what is wanted in the book recommendation list.

What if I’ve already read the books on the personalized recommendation list?

• Unless you specifically ask for assistance in picking out super popular or buzzy books, I aim to share unexpected and hidden gems. To help eliminate recommendations for books already read, users can share their Goodreads, Storygraph or other reading tracking information for review. One round of revisions is also offered.

How long does it take to receive your book recommendation list and book?

• It will depend on the volume of orders, especially with holiday gifting.
  I do all the research, writing and list creation by myself. So, I might be a little busy for a while!

• Book recommendation lists will be processed in the order reading profiles are completed. Users will receive an estimated completion time and can indicate if there is a deadline. 

• A book will be ordered and shipped after the recipient reviews their list and emails their book request and mailing address. We will strive for a turnaround of 1 - 2 business days for ordering books. 

• The timeline for receiving the shipped book will be dependent on the processing time for Chapter One Book Store. The book will be shipped by media mail. The recipient should anticipate approximately 2 weeks for receiving their book.
